🌂 INTRO: Mebibyte vs. Megabyte? (MiB vs. MB)

- a unit of measurement used in computer data storage. The prefix mebi comes from the binary system of data measurement that is based on powers of two.

- kibi, gibi, tebi, pebi, exbi, zebi, yobi  -- were created to refer to power-of-two binary system multipliers.

- kilo, mega, giga, tera, peta, exa, zetta and yotta used to refer to both the power-of-10 decimal system multipliers and the power-of-two binary system multipliers

🌂 conclusion:  this is all to avoid the ambiguity associated with the size of megabytes. 🌂
